We Offer Aftercare at HTF!

Aftercare is offered at Honeytree Homebase Monday thru Friday during the School Year!

The program will operate from 3pm-5pm every day after school at our brick and mortar space in Bedstuy.

Here’s how it works:

  • If we are spending the day at the Nethermead, we will escort your child back to Homebase/Monroe St. after 3pm dismissal via the S train/Prospect Park stop. Aftercare pick-up will be at Homebase.

  • Aftercare will include a snack, crafting, backyard play, and other afternoon energy-appropriate activities.

2023-2024 School Year

Term

Open enrollment for all seasons until the programs are filled.

Location: our program is designed around daily field trips to Brooklyn’s parks.

Fridays will be held at Honeytree Homebase on Monroe St. throughout all seasons (fall, winter and sping)..
We will use each Friday to focus on bread making, clay/play dough making, painting, and seasonal crafting.

*We will keep our Honeytree Homebase well ventilated and all of us will continue to wear masks.*

Fall Session: September 12th-December 1st

Location:
Like last year, September, October and November will be held primarily in Prospect Park/the Nethermead.

Drop-and Pick-Up:
Drop-off and pick-up will be at the Lincoln Rd entrance or at the Nethermead campsite.

Weather Changes:
In the case of extreme/inclement weather we will opt to spend the day at Honeytree Homebase in Bed-Stuy.
Ms. Tamar alerts families the day of by 7am if there are any location or drop-off changes.

What does extreme/inclement weather mean?

  • rain, sleet, blizzard-snow (all day)

  • wind gusts 50mph+ (all day)

  • severe weather alerts (all day) as issued by NWS, Notify NYC, etc. •cold temps. 30/28*- below

  • hot temps. 98/99*+ higher

Please note: Hammocks and proper outdoor gear is essential for the success of your child’s forest school experience! We can help with procuring gear if your family needs the support.

Winter Session: December 5th-March 3rd

Location:
For the months of December, January and February, the model for this session will be predominantly at Honeytree Homebase. We will be using Homebase as our primary space, with excursions to the Nethermead (weather permitting) via the S train.

  • Our Honeytree Homebase will continue to be well ventilated and we will all wear masks.

  • Fridays will continue to have an Arts+Crafting focus.

*Winter Session note: In the event of an extreme COVID outbreak in the city, we will review this hybrid plan together with all enrolled families to put in place an acceptable solution.

Spring Session: March 6th-June 9th

Location:
During the months of March, April and May we will resume our days in the forest, primarily at the Nethermead (as in the Fall)...with the understanding and anticipation of plenty of chilly/windy days that will require us to hold school at Honeytree Homebase on Monroe until more clement weather sets in.

We will continue with Fridays at Homebase for our Arts+Crafting curriculum.
